Theory

Today in our Media lesson we learned about Media Audiences, and I believe that some of the things we've leant will help me with my school magazine, such as:
  • The Imaginary Entity - which is the idea of defining the social position of the audience member, having an imagery person in mind that would be your average  watcher/target audience. I believe this will help me because I will understand what I will need to do to appeal to my target audience (putting myself in their shoes) and keep on task throughout.
  • The Mode of Address - which is the the way that a particular media text speaks/addresses to its audience. I believe that this will help me because I will have an ideal magazine draft in my head throughout the process and I will stick to it, knowing how I'm going to speak to my audience through media encourages me to think of different ways I can do so.
  • Uses and Gratifications - which is the idea of an audience having a set of needs that are met by the media. I believe this will help me because if I know what my target audience wants I can give it to them in the best way I see fit, (in a imaginative perhaps helpful way).
These are the various different things that I picked up a pon most, and I believe that when I come to making my music magazine, I will consider these three things very highly.
