My School Magazine Contents Page
This is where I am at so far with my contents page; I have so far added some pictures although I still have a lot of work to do, such as:
- Change the back ground colour
- More pictures and animation
- Subjet headings
- More alternative text/font
- Different sizes of text and picture
- Shapes
- Shading and reflection
- Paragraph to introduce the magazine
This is my finished magazine contents page, which I believe is much better and more appealing to the minds of children, and which also will be eye catching for adults.
- The introductory paragraph gives the parents and/or children an insight view on what we think about our school, and it also provides them with a few facts and information about our school. I think that this is key information for a parent/child to have if they have never been to the school before, because you never know who will pick your magazine up and take a look at it.
- I think that the boarders and images are very important to have a successful magazine because it catches the eye and makes the reader look in that direction, the attention focuses on the particular part of the page that you want them to and then they will be more encouraged to read that particular page or article.
- Bright colours are very important to have a successful magazine, because they have the power to drive your readers attention to a particular place that you want them to look. Similar to the images and boarders, but the colours also help to give the reader an emotion as well. I chose the colours yellow and green for most of mine, which are the Idsall School colours, but also the colour green is associated with natural and eco-friendly things, and it's thought of to be a blissful colour. I also chose yellow, and the colour is associated with happiness, surprise and summer, and it's thought of to be a very happy and cheerful colour. I thought that these two colours are perfect for my magazine contents page and the front page.
- Slanted text/a different font/font size/underlined/bold/different coloured text are very important to have a successful magazine. These different points all catch the readers eye but in their own way. For example: I have used slanted text for my 'CONTENTS' text at the top of the page, this gives the reader a fun and outgoing interpretation of my magazine, it makes things out of the normal and makes you think outside the box. Various different font sizes/underline/bold are used to catch the attention of the reader so they can notify and realise what the importance of the text will perhaps be, and what is most interesting and most important according to the editor and the writers. The different colours of the text gives the reader perhaps a particular emotion to feel while they are reading the text, this is done for a certain reaction, of which the institution wants to make the audience feel.
